A 27-year-old woman who was described by a friend as a “health freak,” died after drinking alcohol in Sussex, United Kingdom. Alice Burton Bradford suffered from a condition called alcoholic ketoacidosis, a metabolic complication that could be triggered by drinking alcohol on an empty stomach. “She had not eaten enough and it had triggered an acid in her stomach,” Mulvay was quoted as saying.
