The head of Childersburg Rescue Squad in Alabama, Captain Jim Dennis, is clarifying his comments after they were misconstrued regarding the connection between a viral TikTok challenge and recent deaths. However, he clarified that not all of these incidents were linked to the boat jumping challenge popularized on TikTok. Dennis stated that while one person died from jumping out of a boat, he cannot definitively say if it was connected to TikTok. Speaking to al.com, Captain Dennis expressed that his initial comments were blown out of proportion. Captain Dennis warned that water is an exceptionally hard surface and compared it to cutting diamonds and steel.
