more-inA 65-year-old man sustained severe head injuries when an irate traffic head constable allegedly attacked him with a helmet at Vijayanagar on Sunday. Later in the day, Deputy Commissioner of Police – Traffic (West) Shobha Rani suspended the head constable, Jayaram, attached to Vijayanagar traffic police station, and ordered a probe into the incident. As Mr. Ramakrishna reached the water tank junction, the traffic constable overtook him and stopped his motorycle ahead of the car. Mr. Jayaram, however, refused and asked Mr. Ramakrishna to wait for the signal. Heated argument ensued when Mr. Ramakrishna got down from the car after Mr. Jayaram allegedly abused him.
