Photo: Stock imageA popular remedy to relieve hay fever is the latest medicine to run low in Ireland, the Irish Independent has learned. The supply of the medicine is due to resume on May 16 and there are alternatives still available for the treatment of hay fever, the spokeswoman said. Hay fever leaves hundreds of thousands of people in Ireland with symptoms from late March to September every year. Stocks of chlorphenamine maleate, the active ingredient in Piriton and other hay fever medicines, are limited, and most people stick to the medication that works for them. The company has indicated that there is intermittent supply until July and it is working to find additional solutions to the immediate issues.
