Law Society of Kenya President Nelson Havi has hit out at Chief Justice Martha Koome for seeking the dismissal of the case pushing to compel President Uhuru Kenyatta to appoint the six judges. The case, which was before the High Court, had been filed by the Katiba Institute. Through her lawyer Isaac Wamaasa, the CJ on Monday argued that the case is bad in law and an abuse of the process of the court. She has undermined elected leaders of bodies that are key players in the justice sector,” Havi said on Monday in a tweet. Katiba Institute moved to court seeking a court order compelling the president to appoint the six who were rejected on integrity issues.
