In its application, the NGO had alleged the complicity of former revenue minister and SAD member Bikramjit Singh Majithia in drug trade in the state. Majithia is the brother of Union minister Harsimrat Kaur Badal.The bench, however, did not take any names and asked the STF to prepare a report after consulting ED deputy director Niranjan Singh, who had questioned Majithia in December 2014. Tuesday's order came after the HC heard senior advocate Anupam Gupta, who is representing Singh in the case. "The nature and extent or magnitude of Majithia's involvement needs to be determined. There appears to be some unwritten political understanding between the Centre and state not to proceed against Majithia," Gupta claimed.
