Stocks in Hong Kong rose in morning trade today after closing lower yesterday. At midday, the benchmark Hang Seng Index added 0.34 percent, or 87.85 points, to 26,063.51. Shares of MTR Corporation (0066) fell 2.49 percent to HK$41.1, after posting profit warning yesterday. Index heavyweight Tencent (0700) rose 3.78 percent to HK$535.50 with HK$6.82 billion worth of shares traded. In the mainland, the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index gained 0.74 percent, or 24.89 points, to 3,370.23 and the Shenzhen Composite Index was up by 0.85 percent, or 18.33 points, to 2,176.27.
