One of the surprise treats of this past E3 was Mario + Rabbids Battle Kingdom. The game is a cross between the world's most famous plumber and the weird rabbit-like creatures called Rabbids originally from Ubisoft's Rayman games. I'm not sure that any of that stuff is in Mario + Rabbids Battle Kingdom, but the tactical, turn-based mission gameplay is, and it's quite delightful. Between missions Mario and his rag-tag bunch run through somewhat linear areas looking for the next fight or chatting up NPCs. Mario + Rabbids Battle Kingdom will be released on August 29 for the Nintendo Switch.
