Sometimes, I feel a little bit sorry for Hanukkah. In truth, the party — such as it is — could use a little help in the marketing department. Sure, it does have a great back story involving the sacking of the Temple and even studly revolutionary heroes in Judah and the Maccabees. Where the whole thing falls down, in my view, is in terms of style. It is still true that when it comes to Judaica in general, the style options are surprisingly slim on the ground.
