A city school has declared holidays for its pre-school children after a few were diagnosed with the hand-foot-and-mouth disease. Since this disease is airborne and affects only children below 8 years, as a precautionary step, Eklavya school has declared a 4-day holiday stop its spread. As this news spread, Udgam School for Children sent out circulars to their parents regarding communicable diseases. The notice issued by the school said, "We need to ensure communicable diseases do not spread amongst children. Despite several calls to the Eklavya school authorities, no one responded.
