A supermarket shop turned into the trip of a lifetime for one Hamilton couple who won $1 million through Lotto. While a Hamilton man was busy perusing cherry tomatoes his wife was mere aisles away discovering they had won $1 million. The local couple, who want to remain anonymous, were doing some last minute snack shopping at the supermarket on the way to a New Year's Eve gathering when the woman remembered she had a couple of lotto tickets to check. "The Lotto machine played some loud music and locked and the lady had to call Lotto. The winning ticket was sold at Countdown Dinsdale for the Lotto Christmas promotion, drawn on Saturday, December 28.
