Houmin Zou was fined $2500 at the North Shore District Court in Auckland, while another unlicensed electrician Alexander Woodhouse was ordered to pay $1200 at Porirua District Court for undertaking illegal electrical work. Two unlicensed electrical workerselectricians have been fined for carrying out residential electrical work. Electrical workers registrar Duncan Connor said prescribed electrical work could only be done by a licensed electricians registered with the Electrical Workers Registration Board. Connor said licensed electrical workers were qualified professionals who have demonstrated their knowledge of safety regulations and their commitment to ongoing training. "If you are having any electrical work completed, including the installation of appliances, it's recommended that you check the public register of licensed electrical workers to confirm that the electrician is licensed to carry out the work."
