Only Chill Bus services that operate between districts and Fly Bus services which operate from cities and towns to airports are doing regular services. Most of the other low-floor AC buses were parked at the three main depots in Kozhikode, Kochi and Thiruvananthapuram citing inadequate patronage, a senior KSRTC official said. Over half of these premium buses are lying idle due to inadequate marketing through official websites. The KURTC was constituted to operate AC and non-AC low floor buses that were given to States under the Centre’s JNNURM scheme. Dinesh said that most of the AC low-floor buses are under-utilised.
