Half of Bangladesh war crimes convicts are fugitive from justice


On May 3, 2016, the tribunal sentenced four war criminals of Kishoreganj’s Kamirganj to death and another to life in prison. The tribunal sentenced six members of Razakar from Gaibandha’s Sundarganj to death on Nov 22 the same year. They are Abdul Mazid alias Mazid Maulana, Abdul Khaleque Talukder, Kabir Khan, Abdus Salam Beg and Nur Uddin alias Raddin. The tribunal has sentenced 12 fugitive war criminals to prison until death. One of them, Md Abdul Jabbar Engineer from Pirojpur’s Mathbaria, died in the US in August, according to media reports.
