A Haitian migrant who is one of the thousands trudging northward from Central and South America told Fox News on Monday he will never return to his home country and that he is hoping to find a job in the United States once he finishes his 1,500-mile journey. Jenkins joined "America Reports" from Tapachula, Chiapas State – the first Mexican town many of the migrants come to when they cross out of Guatemala. Stevenson told Jenkins that he will "never" go back to Haiti. "In [the] United States, I see opportunity – because I am young and I have no job or nothing," he added. Jenkins told "America Reports" the Mexican government has been somewhat "cracking down" on many of the illegal immigrants currently headed north from places like Chiapas without official documentation.
