Don Hahnfeldt has accomplished plenty in his life — a 32-year decorated career in the United States Navy, notable humanitarian efforts overseas and a distinguished political career back in the states. But recently, Hahnfeldt returned to the place where he said all his success was sparked — the University of Pittsburgh. The Republican member of the Florida House of Representatives, representing District 33 encompassing The Villages, was honored Oct. 13 during the 2017 University of Pittsburgh Varsity Letter Club Awards Dinner. Hahnfeldt was one of eight former Pitt athletic letter winners to be recognized at the Petersen Events Center in Pittsburgh for their post-graduation accomplishments.
