HK$1.44b offered to low-income households from Monday


Labor and Welfare Secretary Law Chi-kwong, left, announces the subsidy for 'N-nothings.' Applications will open Monday or HK$1.44 billion being made available for about 137,000 low-income households, or about 353,600 people, not eligible for welfare, called 'N-nothings. This second round subsidy announced by the Labour and Welfare Secretary Law Chi-kwong today, is a one-off living allowance and will be offered by the Community Care Fund. Single households could receive HK$4,500, while families of two are eligible for HK$9,000. Households with five or more stand to receive HK$15,500.
