The benchmark Hang Seng Index fell by 0.67 percent or 178.48 points, to 26499.9 as of midday. Among blue chips, AIA (1299) fell by 1.43 percent; HSBC (0005) fell by 1.56 percent. CSPC Pharmaceutical (1093) shed 2.3 percent, the worst performer. The Hang Seng Tech Index fell by 0.67 percent at 8276.42. In the mainland, the Shanghai Stock Exchange Composite Index barely moved at 3409.31 points, while the Shenzhen Stock Exchange Composite Index was also steady at 2,273.27 points.
