HK sees 71 suspected adverse events following COVID-19 vaccination


As of Sunday, Hong Kong has seen 71 cases of suspected adverse events following COVID-19 vaccination, of which 47 of them needed hospitalization, according to the Department of Health’s first summary report on the Safety Monitoring of COVID-19 Vaccines in Hong Kong. The 47 people - 30 men and 17 women - are aged between 30 to 90, with five of each having minor injuries, short-term illness or in serious condition, while there are also two who passed away after vaccination. Assistant director of health Frank Chan Ling-fung said as of Sunday, around 91,800 people have received the Chinese-made Sinovac vaccine, of which 69 of them have experienced adverse reactions after the jab. As for some 1,200 people who were administered with the BioNTech jabs, there were 2 who experienced adverse reactions after being inoculated.
