The Centre for Health Protection said as of 12am today, it has recorded 54 additional confirmed coronavirus cases – seven imported and 47 local – bringing the tally to 8,779 cases. Among the 54 patients were 23 men and 31 women, aged between five to 97 years. There were also around 50 preliminary positive cases today. Dr Chuang Shuk-kwan, head of the Centre for Health Protection's Communicable Disease Branch, said of the fresh local cases today, 34 were linked to previous local infections and 13 with untraceable sources. Another patient confirmed today is a nurse from United Christian Hospital who was tested preliminary postive yesterday.
