Speaking on an RTHK radio program, the center’s controler Dr Wong Ka-hing said there are still new infections almost daily in Hong Kong and the situation here is not yet under control. In response to a Hong Kong resident being confirmed to have the virus 10 days after completing a 14-day quarantine period, Wong said some patients do have extra long incubation periods. But he said he doesn't believe there is a need to change the 14-day quarantine requirement, as studies have indicated that the average incubation period for the virus is only five days.
