A bench of Justice JBM Hassan and Justice Md Khairul Alam gave the order after hearing an appeal filed by the writ petitioner. They also demanded an update from DGHS on the hanging of price lists publicly at all private healthcare centres, as well as establishing CCUs and ICUs at the district level. The DGHS formed a five-member committee back in August last year to formulate policy as per the Medical Practice and Private Clinics and Laboratories (Regulation) Ordinance, 1982, and to form a body of specialists within 60 days for policy implementation. The court also asked the Health Secretary to follow up on the committee’s progress. The court set March 7 for the next hearing in this regard.
