more-inThe Madras High Court has directed the Managing Director of the Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation (Salem) to appear before it in connection with a contempt of court application, along with a demand draft for ₹10,000 towards costs to be paid to a retired employee, who was not given his terminal benefits despite court orders. Justice T. Raja issued statutory notice to the Managing Director on the contempt of court petition field by S. Krishnan, who had retired from service on December 30, 2008. Disposing of his writ petition on June 8, 2015, the court had directed the TNSTC to settle all his terminal benefits before August 31, 2015. The order was not complied with, forcing the petitioner to prefer the present contempt application.
