Home ministry secretary, inspector general of police (IGP), IGP (Prison), Rangpur jail authorities have been directed to come up with an explanation within a week. The bench also asked the authorities to provide sufficient security for Mainul, if he is transferred to another jail from Rangpur jail. On November 7, Saju Hosein, wife of Mainul, filed two separate writ petitions in connection with the assault of Mainul at Rangpur court. Dhaka Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Kaisarul Islam sent Mainul to jail for the case on October 23.
