HB 1991 tasks the LTO to require the submission of affidavit attesting to the existence of available permanent parking by the buyer or vendee of the motor vehicle confirming the existence of a space or facility for the motor vehicle to be purchased. Violators of the proposed Proof-of-Parking Space Act shall be slapped with a fine of P50,000 and suspension of vehicle registration for three years in case of violation. “Motor vehicle owners should be made responsible to provide a permanent parking space for their private vehicles, whether this is made an integral part of their house or building structure or leased facility,” Abu said.
