Gulf Energy commences operations at GTS3 power plant in Rayong


In the listed company’s latest move, the Gulf Tasit 3 (GTS3) plant – with an installed capacity of 129.9 megawatts – distributed 90MW of electricity to the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (Egat) in accordance with a 25-year power-purchase agreement from November 1. Moreover, it sells 32.8MW of electricity and 25 tonnes per hour (TPH) of steam to industrial users through existing purchase agreements. The company has completed the development of the GTS3 power plant in Rayong province and commenced commercial operation to distribute electricity to Egat on schedule, she said. The plant is a small power producer, from which the capacity sold to Egat is between 10MW and 90MW. Thanks to the success of the most recent plant’s execution, the company now has 13 gas-fired power projects and four rooftop solar projects in operation with a total installed capacity of 4,772.1MW, Porntipa said.
