The High Court on Wednesday sought a reply from the director general of police and police commissioner of Ahmedabad by Friday after former IPS officer Sanjiv Bhatt's wife Shweta moved court seeking armed police protection for her family. Notably, the Supreme Court had earlier refused to entertain her plea seeking security for her family and had instructed her to approach the HC for the same. She suspects that she and her son were being followed everywhere by unknown people and personnel from Gujarat police. She also submitted that her husband is in judicial custody and the police protection accorded to them earlier has been withdrawn. She also claimed to be a victim of hate mongering. The next hearing of the case is scheduled on April 10.
