Vladimir Guerrero Jr. left the Blue Jays’ 15-2 loss to the Astros in Houston on Friday night after he was hit on the left hand by a pitch in the first inning, but X-rays found no break. Guerrero, who played the rest of the inning before Eric Sogard took over at third base, was diagnosed with a bruise from starter Gerrit Cole’s 96-m.p.h. The start of Guerrero’s season was delayed by a left oblique strain. He also missed a month in the minor leagues last year with a left knee strain.
