AS preparations for next year’s voting start, an advocacy group on Monday called for safe, fair and free elections in 2022. In a unity statement signed by more than 2,000 sectoral groups, Participate PH highlighted the need to ensure the success of the 2022 elections. It also called for an additional funding of P10 billion to implement safety measures for a Covid-proof election. The group also urged the promotion of safe and fair new normal campaigning and the adoption of a multi-stakeholder approach to ensure transparency from government agencies and key stakeholders. It pushed for the creation of a website where voters can have access to information about candidates.
