Group renovates Ogun eye clinic with $1m


Daud Olatunji, AbeokutaA group, Lions Clubs International Foundation, has awarded $1m for the renovation of the Ogun State General Hospital Ultra Eye Care Clinic, Ota, in the Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government Area of the state. The project, which included renovation and upgrade, equipment and training of personnel, was to serve over one million visually impaired people in the state. The Project Coordinator, Lekan Babalola, who stated that the project was initiated due to the unsatisfactory state of the existing eye centre within the general hospital premises, noted that the eye care clinic was sponsored by Lions Clubs International Foundation in partnership with Latter Day Saint Charities. He said “The project was supported by Lions Clubs International Foundation under grant number SF1421/404-B with project building, equipment and training of four medical staff and a Lion administrator. Osuolale who described the initiative as worthy said it would serve many residents in the Ado-Odo Ota Local Government.
