CAF interclubs competitions get new dates

The Confederation of Africa Football Emergency Committee on Monday approved a revised calendar for its Interclubs competitions, which was affected by COVID-19. The CAF Champions League and Confederation Cup were at the semi-final stage before the coronavirus placed sporting events and competitions across the globe on hold. CAF had earlier stated that the Champions League semi-final matches would be decided via one leg, but the new calendar revealed that it will now be played on a home-and-away basis after Cameroon withdrew from hosting the final four. “The first leg matches will be played on September 25 and 26 in Morocco while the second leg matches are to be played on October 2 and 3 in Egypt. “In the principle of fairness, the final will be played at a neutral venue in the event a team from Egypt and Morocco qualify from the semis.
