The bride turned widow, whose health deteriorated quickly within a few hours, was hospitalized. The incident occurred on Sunday, September 30, 2018, at about 1pm at Madina Atomic Road. The couple and two other friends were said to be travelling in a Hyundai Fantasy to the venue when the incident occurred. A driver of a vehicle reportedly attempted to overtake another car, but lost control and rammed the vehicle of the couple, forcing it to crash into a tree. Major Alhaji Disu (Rtd), father of the deceased, who could not bear the pain, reportedly collapsed upon hearing of the incident.
