It is claimed to be the first and fastest to link Africa and the Americas with the lowest latency. SACS is an advanced connection that offers lower latency between Miami, USA and Cape Town, South Africa from 338ms to 163ms. It has four fibre pairs that offer a design capacity of a 40Tbit/s in total between Fortaleza, Brazil and Luanda, Angola. SACS, Monet and WACS are the three submarine cable systems operated by Angola Cables, which connect four regions (South America, North America, Africa, and Europe). Angola Cables manages Angonix, an Internet Exchange Point located in Luanda and the third largest in Africa.
