Grocery store workers have been on the front lines for a year, but they're struggling to get the Covid vaccine

Guidance on vaccine eligibility continues to evolve, leaving these frontline workers unsure of when they'll be able to receive the vaccine. The state has not announced a timetable for when grocery workers, transit workers, first responders, workers at essential retailers or other frontline workers will be vaccinated. "Kroger continues to advocate to federal, state and elected officials to prioritize frontline grocery workers to receive the vaccine," the spokesperson added. "These decisions in no way change the fact that grocery workers and other frontline workers are at greater risk of exposure to Covid-19," she said. Demerrit would be "first in line" to get the vaccine, but Oregon has not made grocery workers eligible.
