Grid Failure Forced Power Outage In 38 Districts EB ReportThe grid failure that initiated last Monday night forced power outage in a number of 38 districts of the country’s southern and northern part. The grid failure also led to a halt in the power import from India and generation of electricity in many power plants of the country. However, the situation started to settle down since today noon as the tripped transmission lines started to operate properly after due maintenance. Most of the districts of 4 Rajshahi, Rangpur, Khulna, Barisal divisions that were affected by the grid failure started getting power one by one after the noon. The grid failure forced all these power plants to lessen their production to 844 MW, ultimately causing most of them to remain shut down till Tuesday noon.
