HIGH-leaping Filipino-American Jalen Green floats the idea of representing the Philippines in any overseas basketball tournament, but it’s uncertain when that ship will sail. Speaking to reporters organized by the National Basketball Association (NBA) Philippines on Thursday in an online forum, the 18-year-old Green admitted Filipino sports journalists have been fishing for a news scoop for years. “It can be a possibility,” said the 6’5” Green, who will be teaming up with 7’2” Kai Sotto in the NBA G League Select Team starting next season. Averaging 15.7 points, 2.3 rebounds and 1.7 assists in the International Basketball Federation (FIBA) U-17 World Cup for Team USA to win gold, he also helped Team US grab the gold in the 2019 FIBA Under-19 World Cup in Greece. Of course, Green has NBA dreams, and the first step towards the “big men’s league” is the NBA G League.
