Palmerston North's Green Corridors project has won the airline's excellence award for environmental impact, announced at the Local Government New Zealand conference in Auckland on Monday. SUPPLIED Celebrating Green Corridors' Air New Zealand excellence award for environmental impact at the Local Government New Zealand conference in Auckland are Palmerston North City Council acting chief executive David Wright, Cr Rachel Bowen, Green Corridors council co-ordinator Michael Duindam, deputy mayor Tangi Utikere, Green Corridors chairman Selwyn Yorke, and councillors Aleisha Rutherford, Susan Baty and Leonie Hapeta. The judges said the impact was clear to see in the transformation of the wildlife corridors. Green Corridors immediate past chairman Russell Poole said winning the award was fabulous, and would help maintain the group's momentum.
