Walsh is among a team of Irish fighters competing at the Olympics World Qualifier tournament in Busto Arsizio in northern Italy this week. Walsh has been drawn against a strong German fighter, Stefanie Von Berge in her opening bout on Friday morning. Overall 602 boxers from 113 countries have registered to contest the tournament – making it the third largest boxing tournament in history. An eight-strong Irish team travelled to the qualifier tournament, with superheavyweight Martin McDonagh winning his first fight, and Sean Mari, exiting the competition today, at 51kg.
