Shah told Rajya Sabha that Jan Dhan Yojana, Ujjwala, Saubhagya and Give It Up were some the key schemes of the government, which was also trying to generate employment opportunities by giving loans to people through the Mudra Yojana. The BJP president also defended the goods and services tax (GST) saying there was an attempt to create an impression that GST would create problems for small and medium businesses. I think traders will benefit by the implementation of GST because for the first time the tax collection procedure has been streamlined and the government has realised the dream of one nation, one tax,” Shah added.
