Govt to advise people with certain conditions to delay their jab

Professor Ivan Hung Fan-ngai, co-convenor of the Expert Committee on Clinical Events Assessment Following Covid-19 Immunization said the Department of Health will soon release a guideline, listing out people with certain conditions to delay getting their jab. Hung said the guideline will suggest those with uncontrolled diabetes, high blood glucose level, heart diseases, and hypertension should delay getting their jabs. It was said the department will make the announcement tomorrow. This came after the city has reported several potential adverse events to Covid-19 vaccines after the Covid jabs were given to members of the public, with so far three dead after receiving the Chinese-made Sinovac vaccine. Hong Kong’s vaccine panel previously said two of the three deaths have no direct link with the vaccines, while they are still waiting on more information to determine the cause of the third one.
