Finance Minister Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury said this in Parliament in response to a starred tabled question from BNP lawmaker Joynal Abedin (Feni-2), regarding steps taken to strengthen the economy amid global economic challenges and the fragile economic situation left by the previous government. Despite these challenges, Khasru said the government has already taken and is implementing a set of measures to make the economy stronger, stable and dynamic. Revenue growth and tax reform:The government is simplifying the tax system, expanding the tax net, increasing use of technology in revenue collection, reducing tax evasion, and modernizing the system to enhance development financing capacity. Khasru said the government will continue coordinated efforts to address both global and domestic economic challenges and build a stable, transparent and sustainable economic system for the future.
