“Without Secretary Galvez’s support, the private sector will not be able to access any vaccines. Secretary Galvez trusted the private sector. It was this mutual trust between the public and the private sector that made all of these possible,” he said in a statement. The first batch of the AstraZeneca vaccine doses procured by 36 private companies are expected to arrive in May and June. The private sector will facilitate the inoculation of Filipinos under the A4 priority group such as uniformed personnel and other essential frontliners.
