The blowout growth in the fourth quarter meant that the economy grew by 6.7 per cent against 7.1 per cent in the previous year. Private consumption expenditure grew by just 6.6 per cent during the year compared to nearly 11 per cent in government consumption. In the fourth quarter, government expenditure grew by 16.8 per cent compared to private final consumption expenditure growth of 6.7 per cent. The highest sectoral growth in GVA was achieved by public administration, defence and other government services at 10 per cent.
