Govt expects GDP to grow 7.4pc in FY18Bangladesh expects the economy to grow by more than 7 per cent in the fiscal year 2017-2018 (FY18).In its budget for the next financial year, which was proposed in the Jatiya Sangsad (parliament) on Thursday, Finance Minister AMA Muhith has set a target for 7.4 per cent economic growth. "GDP growth rate will be 7.4 per cent in 2017-18 and inflation will come down to 5.5 percent by the end of the fiscal year," Muhith said in his speech.GDP growth will stand at 7.24 per cent in the current fiscal year.Multilateral lending agencies, like the World Bank, ADB and IMF, however, projected the GDP to grow by less than 6 per cent in the outgoing fiscal year. source – bdnews24.com
