The government has so far appointed 60,000 candidates who cleared the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) on contractual posts of teachers in vernacular-medium schools across the state. He said the BJP-led government soon after assuming power in May last year regularised the first batch of 7,000 TET teachers. "The government is aiming to regularise the services of all 60,000 TET teachers by 2018. After meeting the target, it will keep regularising TET teachers within two to three months from dates of their appointment. A daylong orientation programme for the 687 TET teachers was also conducted today by Sarba Siksha Abhijan, Assam, in collaboration with Krishna Kanta Handique State Open University.
