Sports News of Thursday, 5 February 2026Source: www.ghanaweb.comThe Minister of Sports and Recreation, Kofi Adams, has announced that the government is working on securing financial assistance from corporate Ghana to fund supporters to cheer on the Black Stars at the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The Member of Parliament for the Buem constituency clarified that the amount of money government can raise will determine the number of fans the State will sponsor for the World Cup. The number we ultimately take will depend on how much we raise,” he said during an interview with Asempa FM. The sports minister appealed to corporate institutions to contribute financially so that more supporters can travel to support the Black Stars at the World Cup. The Black Stars have been placed in Group L alongside Croatia, England, and Panama at the 2026 FIFA World Cup in the United States of America, Canada and Mexico.
