In furtherance of this objective, President Akufo-Addo cut sod for the commencement of work on the upgrade and modernisation of the Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) system in Ghana two weeks ago, to add to earlier interventions aimed at positioning TVET at the centre of development policy. “The resolve by the government of President Akufo-Addo is to make technical and vocational education a major component of our educational curriculum. There is also a $130 million project for the construction of training workshops for 5 polytechnics and technical universities together with 10 technical institutes in areas such as mechanical engineering, automobile engineering, civil engineering, welding engineering and others. All technical universities and polytechnics have also been provided with state of the art laboratories and workshops with equipment.
