KUALA LUMPUR (Mar 2): The Domestic Trade, Co-operatives and Consumerism Ministry has revised the retail price of coarse grain white refined sugar in Malaysia to RM2.95 a kg from RM2.84 on costlier raw sugar. According to the ministry's statement today, the new price has been effective since yesterday (March 1). The ministry said the price revision was due to the "increase in international prices of raw sugar, which Malaysia imports." According to the ministry, the last time it revised retail prices ofsugar was on October 25, 2013.
