Six more companies of CRPF will reach the town on Wednesday taking the total deployment to ten companies. Six army columns are already on the ground assisting the state police to maintain law and order. Following the Morcha's strike call at all state government offices in the town, elaborate arrangements have been made across major government offices in Darjeeling. The GJM had announced its support for the bandh, coinciding with its indefinite strike call demanding a separate state of Gorkhaland. GNLF along with five other hill-based political outfits attended the all-party meeting called by GJM at the Darjeeling Gymkhana Club on Tuesday.
