In the heart of Gore, the dulcet tones of a radio DJ called Caveman have been ringing out over the airwaves since 8am on Saturday. Caveman, or Cavey as he is known to many in the southern town, is still more than 24 hours away from setting a world record for the longest radio broadcast. Rachael Kelly/Stuff Gore DJ Caveman determined to set a new world record for the longest solo live radio broadcast by staying on-air for one hundred and seven hours and 28 minutes. He's planning on being behind the microphone for 107 hours and 28 minutes - and he's determined to "knock the bastard off". The world record challenge is being recorded so it can be verified by the people at Guiness World Records, but the attempt is serving another purpose.
